ignorant people annoy me. espacially ones who cant take an opionion that differs from their own...

some people can be so small minded!!

Ignorance is not bliss. At all. It leaves people simple minded and lacking of any life experience to make them better/stronger/more capable. Its better to be aware of the world, and the people around you, even if its tragic, than to live in your own head. Its reality. Create your own reality? Is this ignorance?

No its not.

Its quit difficult to measure some one's intelligence when your approach does not differ so much from theirs.

suicidal dear, you do not have to get annoyed because this person is ignorant, instead, its your responsibility to enlighten this person so as to get him or her see your point of view.

One can only take an opinion that differs from theirs if they get to see the point of your argument.

try to be patient. You may find that these very ignorant people see you as ignorant. Meaning, that we are all ignorant of a new idea or one which does not belong to us unless the owner labours to prove to us be-on reasonable doubt that its the best.

Ignorance doesn't have much to do with intelligence in this connotation.  We're talking about boorish behavior.  

The problem is that what is small minded to offended, may be clear minded to the offender.  People can be very passionate about things, and don't have the finesse to present their side of things without getting nasty about it.  Take a look at the Religion and Spirituality category for numerous examples of this.  But the amusing thing is that each side of the issue thinks the other point of view is small minded for not seeing their side.  I don't know the solution to that.

Using political parties as an example, there are good people on both sides of the aisle, people who have the best interests of the country at heart.  But they can't and won't see that the other side feels the same way.  Sure there are liars and fools on both sides, but not everyone is out to make a buck at the expense of the rest of us.

ignorance is just when you dont know something.

like a child can be ignorant about politics.

not necessarily their fault.

but when it comes to people being small minded jerks, yeah, that annoys me.

Ignorant people are a whole different world, I agree!  We definitely need less of them.

I do not believe "ignorance is bliss" applies to those who have problems accepting differing opinions or who are small minded.  I take the phrase to mean that, when you are oblivious to the problems of the world or negative things going on, you tend to be happier.

Totally, facts and opinions are best kept separate.  However I've also heard it said that you can be so open minded that your brain falls out (and I've seen this happen! well obviously not actually his brain falling out.. but looking like an **** for refusing to make a judgment on something)
