Igor Andreev crushes Nicolas Pastor in the second qualifier – Copa Claro 2012
Igor Andreev of Russia was on the top of his form, as he bulldozed Nicolas Pastor of Argentina in straight sets at the Copa Claro in Buenos Aires on Sunday. The Russian dropped only one game, clinching the second qualifier
6-0, 6-1 in just an hour and six minutes.
Andreev was flawless in the opener. The Russian did not allow Pastor to claim even a single game. Andreev broke the Russian three times and completed the set with a bagel.
The Russian sent punishing returns to almost all of his opponent’s serves, claiming 15 out of a total of 24 of them. Andreev pocketed three of the five break points he got in the opener.
Pastor’s fate did not see many changes in the second set. The Argentinean lost his serve in the first and third game to trail 0-4 but managed to avoid a bagel set this time, when he held in the fifth. There was no more joy
for Pastor he dropped two consecutive games, squandering the set 1-6.
Andreev is drawn to face Paul Capdeville of Chile in the last qualifier.
World number 127 Capdeville upset second seed Joao Souza in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 to proceed to the final. The match lasted for an hour and 29 minutes.
The Chilean was down 2-4 at one stage but grabbed four games in a row to seal the opener 6-4. Capdeville raced to a 3-0 lead in the second set. Souza tried to fight back but the Chilean won last three games to seal it 6-2.
Meanwhile, Wayne Odesnik of USA did not face much difficulty in uprooting Juan Pablo Brzezicki of Argentina 6-2, 6-3 in the second qualifier. The American will now take on another Argentinean, Federico Delbonis in the final.
Delbonis ended the hopes of his compatriot, Martin Alund, in three sets 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-2 in the second qualifier.

in the second qualifier.
In the remaining two matches of the day, Andreas Molteni of Argentina beat countryman Marco Trungelliti 6-3, 7-6(3) and Argentinean Facundo Arguello outlasted compatriot Agustin Velotti 7-5, 6-3 to move to the final qualifier.
