Croatian national team’s head coach Igor Stimac has expressed his disappointment at Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas for not including http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 in his plans, and expects the player to complete his move to Real Madrid soon.
Modric has been one of the longest running transfer sagas of this summer’s transfer window. The unsettled player has been seeking a move away from White Hart Lane since the past two seasons, and this year finally looked like the year that Modric will get
his wish and move away, in search of the ‘new challenge’ he craved so badly.
The want away midfielder has been linked to rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, and it had been no one other than Andre Villas-Boas himself who had tried signing the player while he was at Stamford Bridge. Now, the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid
have entered the fray, with Madrid looking like favourites to land the player.
Spurs value Modric at £40 million, and Madrid have so far failed to meet this price. This has been the major hurdle in the player’s transfer so far. Modric tried forcing a move away by failing to report for training last month and also refusing to travel
with the Spurs squad for their pre-season tour of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034. He has since apologized for his behaviour, but only after he was charged with two fines for unprofessional behaviour.
Modric’s absence from the Spurs travelling party has not gone down well with Croatian national team manager Igor Stimac.
"I don't like the situation that he is in at all, he has not played any matches at all this summer," Stimac was quoted as saying while talking to the press.
The former West Ham player is confident that Modric will leave White Hart Lane by the end of this month. "He will end up signing for Madrid before the market shut,” he added.
Spurs have signed the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 as they prepare for life without Modric. It’s only a matter of time now before the player’s future is resolved, and the longest ever transfer saga of the Premier League is put to bed.
