  1. i dont know much about iguana's but i know about ferrets i suggest you dont get a ferret since they can be agressive and their bites really hurt and they wont let go, they really do stink your house out regardless how many times you bath them i would say a labrador they have a good temporment but they need exercise thats all i have to say good luck

  2. I would advise on a ferret, because they are really funny, sweet and loyal animals.

There is the misconception that ferrets are vicious, but the chance of a ferret biting is less than the chance of a puppy biting. As long as they are looked after well and trained properly they are unlikely to bite.

Ferrets are also easy to look after, as long as you clean out their living quarters regularly, because they tend to get smelly quickly. Unlike labradors, you don't need to take ferrets out on long daily walks, although ferrets do appreciate the exercise.

Iguanas are cool, I agree, but they grow to be absolutely massive and need huge vivariums to live in.

I would recommend you to do a lot of research, because all of these animals would be a huge responsibility.

Personally though, ferrets are my fav xD

  3. What can you afford? Labs are pricey, but the best

  4. Lab

    1. they are loyal

    2. lots of ferrets out there have cancer

    3. And as far as I know it will live the longest

  5. Well it doesn't look like too many people here know much about ferrets.

They will not all of a sudden turn wild on you, never EVER declaw one. You trim the nails about once a week.

They are not really smelly especially since most come already spayed or neutered, and descented unless you buy from a breeder. They have a "slight" musk smell to them, but hardly noticeable and most ferret owners appreciate the smell.

They can do tricks when trained, very loyal, loving and affectionate. They can get very attached to their owners though. If away from you for too long they can get depressed and even sick.

They live anywhere from 7-12 years.

They need a lot of attention though, played with and out of their cage for a least 4 hours a day. The longer the better.

They are thiefs though, so watch your car keys and cell phones (personal experience). Always keep a spare car key somewhere high =)

They do like to go outdoors as well, either in a carrier or harness and lead but like a lot of animals they need vaccines first.

There are lots of things online you can google and research about Ferrets.

They are not a cheap pet. The vet bills are not the issue though unless they do get sick like any other animals and they do need vaccines and checkups about once a year. Its the buying of a cage, food, bedding, toys, hammocks, litter boxes, ect really.

Here is a lifetime medical chart and what the average person ends up paying per ferret with vet bills.

I personally would pick a Ferret, but depends on how much time you have to put into owning one. Also make sure they are legal in your state.

  6. What is your lifestyle?  How much time and effort are you willing to put into care and training.

The lab will be the most rewarding or the most frustrating based on your level of commitment, next the ferret, and the iguana needs the least amount of care but isn't going to wag his tail when you come home.

  7. All! if you have 2 pick on i would pick a ferret because you can do everything take them on walks! Play with them! Cuddle there just like a lab!

  8. labrador. :D

  9. I would suggest the common Red Squirrel.

They are very friendly creatures and perfect around young children. They can also be trained to do common everyday chores for example washing up, laundry and even buttering your morning bagel.

They can also be trained to do various tricks for your entertainment for example jumping through hoops of fire or eating large fruits.

They don'tt have many enemies so you will not have toworryy about epic duels in your house, unless of course a common Grey Squirrel comes into your common Red Squirrels territory.

They are very self sufficient animals so don't need a lot of looking after. Once you have a tree and maybe some bushes.

Good luck with your Red Squirrel!

I hope it brings you as much joy as my Red Squirrel, Fiona, has brought me.

  10. Labrador, definitely. Iguanas are awesome, but can be boring, because you can't play with them, or anything. Ferrets are adorable and are also pretty cool, but can turn vicious at any time. Any for them to be legal, you need a license in most states, which can take a while. Labs are playful, fun, loyal, and sweet all the time, unlike the other two. They can really be your friend, which is hard for the other two animals. Also, they are much more intelligent.

  11. Iguannas get HUGE, and are most often not very nice.  Yes they are cool, but if you cant interact with them or show them off than thats not very cool.  A ferret is a great pet!  They are fun and can run around, and arent tooooo expensive.  I worked at petco for 5 years and always loved playing with them and always walked around with them in my shirt, it was so funny!!  If you get a white one, be aware it may be def.  And a Lab is a whole different story, that takes walks, lots and lots of foor, that is VERY expensive, vet bills, constant attention, and messy with a lot of fur, trust me I have one, love him to death but a lot of work.  I would suggest getting two ferrets, they are so cute and funny when they play.  The cage will be expensive, but after that it should be minimal... they do smell if you dont clean the cage once a week.

  12. Quite a range in types of pets.

I have had a Iguana, and a chinchilla, chinchillas are the closest thing to a ferret, but the iguana was way cooler. I know ferrets are smart, but they are little thieves and will take stuff and hide it or rip up clothe and make nests, I would get a Iguana if you want a more mellow pet, and a lab if you want a playmate.

  13. ferrets are expensive. you need to sterilize/castrate them, otherwise they will go wild in your home. some will say to declaw ferrets, but never do that, cause they wont walk normally. there are other things that will cost a lot, I've read that one surgery for something costs like 900$. there will be quite a lot of visits to the vet. if you can afford one, go for it and you will also need to spend a lot of time with them, they recommed 4 hours per day. except if you have two or more, then they wont be so bored. they have their own odour that is more strong, so some people couldnt stand having a ferret inside their home anymore and they built a wooden "house" for them outside of the house. I hope its not too hot inside in summer.

thats all I know about ferrets. its quite a lot of work with them.

  14. Well they're all so different.  Iguanas don't do a whole lot but sit around, ferrets are awesome...they run around and get into things and are so much fun to watch and mine was so loving!  Labs well...its a dog...so it does what dogs do.  If you get a ferret you have to be willing to let it out as much as possible to run around and they do smell quite a bit so you have to clean out their home at least 2 times a week.  So my suggestion would be either a lab or ferret.  Both are a huge responsiblity and takes a lot of your time.  Research both by going to the library and reading up on them.  That is what I honestly do before getting any new pet...especially a new species...and new breed.  That way  I know the best way to take care of my new pet because they will be in your family for a long time.

  15. Should consider how much it costs.

    Heres a layout:

    Dogs: a year maybe $1000-2000

    Iguana: a year maybe $2000

    Ferret: no clue
