Well I've had my 2 baby iguanas for about a week and a half, so I wanted to know if they should let me be picking them up by now because I tried with one and it got loose. So any help?

  1. this is a good link on Iguana care

you want to let them climb up on you, rather than picking them up.. they hate being picked up.. let them climb you ...

for now also lots of touching, their backs etc. while they are in their cage.. offer special treats when you are with them...

  2. I'd let them be for a while.  Let them get used to the sounds and smells in their new home.  Then you can start working on hand feeding them and eventually handling them.

  3. It takes time and patience. You wanna start by NOT touching. Leave him be for now and let him get use to his new home and everything that is going on around him. Feed him and change his water everyday (remember to feed the right stuff) also clean up his p**p but don't touch. Talk to him and sit near where he can see you. After a few weeks start touching him inside his home with just a finger and work up form there. Come up under his or to the side if you come at him form above he will freak out and think you plan to eat him. When he is comfortable with you touching him you can move on to holding inside his cage for a while. Check out  anspid.org and IG zone as well as www.repticzone.com. To learn more about careing for your pet the right way. Make sure you have a UVB blub!!

  4. i dont really know a lot about Iguanas, but this vidio should help.

  5. The more you handle them, the better they will be.  Do it in a closed room, with little to no chance of escape.
