  1. when the iguana is little a decent sized fish tank and a heat rock , fake plants/real one, obviously food and water  should do, or a bird cage i what i used for mine all the same stuff, but make sure that your little guy can fit through the bars

you deff. need a heat rock or heat lamp..they like the rock better

they sell iguana's at the flea market, you can look on craigslist.com too for a cheaper one

  2. #4

    like 10 to 15

  3. 1. they need a large,4fw,8fL,4fT,

2.by lefting the tale up, google it for pics

3.heat pad not recomending they sence heat though the top not their belly

    4. around 20$

  4. 1) A young iguana should not live in anything smaller then a 55 gallon tank, and the 55 gallon tank will only last the iguana 8-12 months of age. Enclosure needs to be at least 1.5-2 times it's total length. Usually best after a year of age to move it into an adult enclosure, mostly because moving from one space to another can sometimes cause stress. Adult you will need a space of 6-7ft tall x 8-10ft long x 4ft wide.

    2) You usually can not til the difference between male/female until about a year of age.

    3) Some ig owners when they are living in tanks do use under tank heaters. Some older ig owners do use human heating pads under a blanket/towel in the basking area. You don't need to use if you do not wish to use. NO HEAT ROCKS, heat rocks can cause serious underbelly burns.

    Temps:

never let drop below 70F ...

basking 92-96F if temp is too low digestion is slowed too high food digests too fast and nutrition is lost

    medium/middle (overall) 88-92F

    cool 75-84F

    at night 73-84F

For basking temps, you can use a normal house bulb for the basking light instead of a basking bulb from the pet store, wattage will depend on enclosure size.

    4) Depending on where you live depends on the price could be anywhere from $10-$30 US dollars. Please do think about adoption over buying from a pet store.

You need to have UVB for your iguana, some so called UVB bulbs can cause eye damage for your iguana.

UVB tubes that are safe along w/ the distance it should be away from your iguanas body:

US: ReptiSun 10.0 distance 8-10 inches from your igs body

Repti Glo 8.0 distance 6-8 inches from your igs body

ReptiSun 5.0 distance 6-8 inches from your igs body

UK: Arkadia distance 6-8 inches from your igs body

    Floor covering:

BAD floor covering: bark, dirt, moss, sand, pellets are all bad ... at some point your iguana will try and l**k swallow and then possibly cause blockage which will then need to be surgically removed or possibly death ... SAFE floor covering: newspaper (unprinted), paper towels, towels, vinyl flooring, indoor/outdoor carpeting - if you have any lose fibers from the carpeting or the towels please remove and replace - unprinted newspaper if you possibly can use is safer just in case your ig likes to try and eat the newspaper some ink may contain soy.

Please do read about foods, what not to feed what to feed.
