Just to be on the safe side, ill put a seperator for my two iguanas ( male & female ). Now im going to build a huge cage ( outdoor ). One huge cage, what would be the dimensions?now theyre two years old, but I want to use the cage even when theyre adults, I'm having a single cage for the two, just gonna put a seperator, i want the best possible size, I have a huge empty area beside my house and im putting the cage there. I also wanna know how to clean their bathing area ( a small pond ) and how do I sterilize the huge logs. Also how to keep ants away. Cats and dogs could enter the area where the cage will be, how do I keep them way theyll frighten my igs and they might destroy the cage ( note: these are crazy, strong and hungry cats and dogs which will attack any small thing that moves, even babies ), otherwise the area is safe and quiet. The temperature is ok, and they could easily get warm even when raining. ( hot in my place might be too hot )

  1. lol ... Please ppl do answer also!!!

I'll give you some links for sites to see some stuff in a private email.

Do you live in a warm area where you are able to keep your igs outside? It's best not to let your igs live outside if your state gets cold, windy. If it gets too hot, your igs can overheat outside, you'd have to bring them in.

You can clean a log w/ bleach and water and let air dry, may have to do a few times, and of course rinse, rinse and rinse again. Make sure of course that it doesn't have any nasty bugs.

Small pond ... usually cat litter box w/ water works just fine (of course the cat litter only has water in it - no actual cat litter). You should want to be able to clean it out, so mosquitoes cant do there West Nile thing in the water.

Ants, I know some ppl that have put bowls at the legs w/ water, but that was for indoor I believe. If the ants are crazy ants, I'd say you'd need to find a new location for the cage.

Hungry cats and dogs, this could be a problem if you're igs live outdoors 24/7, there are other preditors like birds. Flying objects can scare iguanas. Is your yard fenced? If ppl can see an iguana they are a threat to them also, have read that some ppl have snatched igs from ppls yards while outside.

You can make the outdoor enclosure as easy or as complex as you wish to.

Sites to read and look at:

    http://www.iguanaden.org/housing/index.h...

    http://www.anapsid.org/iguana/caging.htm...

You should start your igs out slow outside just for them to get used to outdoor things. Igs only need to be outside 30mins-1hr to get there 12 hrs of UVB tube ray for the day.

I'll email you w/ links for some sites.

saraht1994 DO NOT USE GLASS ... glass outside and heat equals green house effect which can kill your iguana

  2. the male and the female will get along just fine  i had an adult and a male together and they were fine       my iguanas cage is 3' wide 6' long  and goes from floor to ceiling    make sure those cats and dogs stay as far away from that tank as possible     before i had my male iguana he was at another persons house and there he was in a small glass tank   the lady had a dog who scared the iguana  so he whipped his tail at the glass. the glass broke and he lost 3' of tail.   also to sterilize huge logs just wash them under hot water.  thats what i did with the stuff from the pet store. but if its from outside just make sure its clean and has no bugs.         ants shouldnt be a problem.    gnats will be though.  constantly clean out the p**p in the cage. you'll regret it if you dont.  if the pond is a container just dump it out, rinse it under hot water and wash it out. put it back in then fill it up again.   i wouldn't suggest putting the iguanas out side.  thats not such a good idea. they could probably get sicker that way.    well good luck with all of that and hope i helped.
