  1. I hope you used lead-free paint - otherwise you can look forward to your iguana slowly succumbing to lead poisonning !

  2. What kind of ventilation dose this house/box have? Do you have it open right now with your heat lamps turned on? If not go do that. I hope your Iguana is not yet in there. It takes a couple of days for your cage to "cure" well. Also you might want to go over the paint with a coat or two of polyurethane to protect the wood and paint form the humidity an Iguana needs. Otherwise the wood in your cage may rot over time.

  3. Usually paint smell lasts a long time. ( as in a week or so) Just don't put your iguana in it while it still smells. Also, do you have the cage outside? the de-smelling process would go quicker when there's a breeze to take it away. Don't try putting air freshener in it either, for your iguana's sake. It also depends on what type of paint you used. Normal wall paint should last about a week, inside. outside, about 3-5 days.  Remember, the amount of time the paint smells depends on how much chemicals ( and the right kkind) are in the paint.
