  1. Greens

    (40-45%)

Collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens (with flowers), escarole, water cress.

    Other vegetables

    (40-45%)

Green beans, orange-fleshed squashes (butternut, Kabocha), snap or snow peas, parsnip, asparagus, okra, alfalfa (mature, not sprouts), onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, sweet potato, zucchini, yellow squash, carrots.

    Fruits

    (10% or less)

Figs (raw or dried), blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, mango, melon (cantelope, honeydew, watermelon), papaya, banana, apple.

    Grain-based foods

    (less than 5%)

Cooked rice or pasta, whole wheat bread (makes for a great treat)

    Supplemental protein

    (less than 5%)

Alfalfa pellets (rabbit food) or recommended commercial diets (see below).

    Other occasional foods

    (less than 5%)

See below for lists of foods that should not be fed in excess, but can still be an excellent way to provide variety and fun. Mixing in other foods on occasion is recommended.

  2. i feed mine bananaas and he eats  it, if wont work ask the pet store what he liked to eat

  3. You are supposed to give them fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins. Lettuce is not good because its mostly water with low to little nutritional value. I give my iguanas a different variety everyday which usually consists something like tomatoes, bananas, onions, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, green onions, brocolli, cabbage, dark green leafy vegetables, etc. Also you need to put some calci powder on the food...especcially if they are little. Make sure the lights in the tank are working properly or you could be confusing them with day versus night. It might just be because they are scared being in a new place, so make sure you handle them. Otherwise, when they get bigger they do tend to become vicious. Good Luck! Also, one of their favorite treats (for all iguanas) is hibiscus flowers!

  4. Seeing as you have only had him 2 days you need to give him time. Leave him alone for a few days so he can settle in. Let him learn that you are not there to hurt/eat him. Check out Iguana zone's website and you will learn to better care for your pet. He is scared right now. You are a big huge monster to him and he is in a brand new place with new smells and that means danger to him. You should make sure the temps and humidity are right. Provide fresh water everyday, as well as good greens, remove waster and leave him alone other than that. He may not eat in fornt of you for a while.

  5. give him iceburg lettuce, romain lettuce will make it aggressive. if it is still little, feed it those little pellets. Don't feed it crickets, its neat to watch but harms its diet. Don't give it a heating rock, and make sure it has the proper lighting, like 25 watts or something.
