  1. Names of iguanas I've had are :

    Iggy

    Ziggy

    Suri

Bunny (parents thought it'd be funny to talk about Bunny in public so people would think he was a rabbit then come to find out it's an iguana)

    Conan

Nasty (she really was nasty, bit her old owners though it was their fault for not handling her at all)

    Cleo

The name you've chosen isn't common. Yes you can get a juvenile iguana from the pet store and raise it.

  2. Liza  Izzi Marillia Limbo Zii Twike

  3. I bought one from a pet store and he's doing just fine. Just take it to the vet with a p**p sample within the stores warranty (I got mine from petco and had 14 days to use their free vet service). You just have to be more careful while they're babies but other then that just take care of them as if it were an adult.

Names . . . Tilly, Tally, Ally, I don't know . . . mine is named Aro, it was a random name as well, but the one you used, Iguana backwards is really original. I've never heard it before. You can use that.

  4. i had one named "boogers" (my brother bought him and picked his name) and one named "salvatore green", i think the name you picked is unique and neat.....

  5. Some national chained pet stores do carry iguanas BUT I'd like to caution you on buying a reptile from pet stores. A lot of pet stores do not know the proper care (diet, uvb, heat, etc) for iguanas, and there is a big chance that your iguana from the pet store will have mites and/or parasites. So you will need to have a herp/reptile vet around you that you can take the iguana to. Some vets do not take care of reptiles. So just use caution from buying from a pet store. Some pet stores might let you think that they are babies, but they can already be 3months of age when you buy. Unless you buy from a breeder that knows the hatching date, there is a chance you won't get a hatchling/baby, it could be 3months or older.

I checked out baby name web sites to pick out my iguanas name, and did pick a unique name for an iguana. Yes, Iggy, Rex, Spike, Godzilla, Pickles (because of the tuberculate scales) are really common iguana names. I belong to few iguana sites, and I don't recall ever seeing Anaugi, so that is a unique name to me. Also, you can not tell the s*x of an iguana til it is around a year of age, so if you pick a boyish name your iguana may end up being a girl, or the other way around. A reptile vet can do a test to let you know if you really need to know the s*x.
