  1. Yes you can - so long as it's aligned to use the Astra 2 satellites (i.e. Sky Digital) rather than Astra 1 (the old analogue Sky service, which was shut down in 2001). If you got the dish installed within the last 10 years, it ought to be OK.

    Basically, just buy a freesat receiver from Argos, John Lewis or anywhere else (the cost is around £50 for a standard box or £120 for a High Definition box) and plug it into your existing dish.

    Maplins and (I think) Aldi/Lidl have some even cheaper boxes, at around the £35-£40 mark, but these don't have the Freesat EPG so may be trickier to use (they will still get all the channels though).

    Alternatively, if you still have an old Sky Digital box, you should be able to use that to get the Freesat channels without the need for a viewing card.


  2. Yes, just connect it to any Sky box & use it without a card.

    That's how mine works.
