Ii NEED HELP ON MY GEOMETRY?

I DO NOT GET WHAT A PLANE MEANS? AND WHY DO WE HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO PUT A BUNCH OF LETTERS TOGETHER ANYWAY? UGH THIS IS HARD. HELP?

  1. a plane is an area on a graph.

    every graph has and x and y axis which form FOUR quadrants, also known as planes.

    you can determine which plane to plot your points in by the coordinates you are given.


  2. Plane: An undifined term in geometry.

    It has a flat surface that has no thickness and extends forever. Basically, it is like a piece of paper/two-D shape that keeps on extending forever and ever. To name a plane, it depends on the noncollinear letters. Lets say there are 3 noncollinear points in space. And they are K, L, M. There is a plane containing them. Through any three noncollinear points there is exactly one plane containing them. It would be called Plane KLM. Or, if it had a letter by itself in the corner without a point like L, it would be Plane L. Either name. I have Geometry too and we went over it today. It's pretty simple. Try going to Holt learning (look it up on google) and it will help you beyond the explanation I gave you ^^

  3. Here's how i teach kids about 3D...

    Pretend that the place you are standing is point "A" on a plane. What plane is that point on? That point is on the plane we commonly call the floor.

    Now, imagine the point where the leg of your desk hits the floor (point "B) as another point on a graph that's drawn on the floor. Can you draw a line to connect these two points? Of course you can because a line can be draw between any two points. Right?

    Now, take a third point on the floor (like another leg of your desk) and call that point "C". Can you connect those three points into a line? Not necessarily, right? It's likely that you would create a triagle by connecting ABC. You with me?

    Now, pretend point "D" is the point on your chair where your feet would be if you were to stand on your chair. If you made a ramp so that you could skate down to points C and D, could you do that? Now, if you extended the surface of the ramp into infinity, you have another plane.

    In summary, any two points will make a line. Any three points can be connected through the use of a plane.

  4. dude, chill. a plane is a flat figure, with no depth, that can go on forever. but i'm susan's kid and i'm in 6 grade so i have like no idea why that would be useful! :)
