Former Test cricketer and ex-chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, believes that Haroon Lorgat can play a major role in the success of the proposed Pakistan Premier League (PPL), which is likely to be held in the troubled country in March,

Ironically, Butt, during his tenure as the chairman of the PCB, did not enjoy good terms with the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010.
No international cricket is being played in the country since the terror attack on the Sri Lankan team in 2009. In a bid to revive the international sport in Pakistan, the PCB is working hard to organise a franchise-based league, to attract foreign players
to come and play with the local stars.
A number of former cricketers believe that the PPL is going to be hugely beneficial for cricket in Pakistan. Lorgat visited Lahore last week and gave suggestions about the proposed event, with reports that the South African may get hired by the PCB for the
tournament.
According to the Pak Tribune sources, the former Test cricketer expressed that he has complete faith in Lorgat’s administrative abilities.
“What happened is in the past,” Butt expressed. “Lorgat is a gentleman and I have good relations with him. This event holds a lot of significance for cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and Lorgat can play a useful role in making it a success.”
The ex-chairman believes that the board has made a brilliant move by taking Haroon’s services, who can also persuade different cricket boards all around the world to send their players to play in Pakistan.
“He has expertise in handling administrative affairs. Add to this his relations with others boards which could also be beneficial. It's a wise step by the PCB to invite him. If the board succeeds in roping him in a major role, it would be a big boost for
the PPL,” the former PCB chief added.
Butt was replaced by Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 as the chairman of the PCB in 2011.
