Ijaz Butt responsible for making Pakistan cricket a laughing stock

The cricket dealings in Pakistan are shrouded in mystery with the current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt, a former test wicket keeper and batsman complicating matters to an extent that it has become hard to distinguish between truth and
lie.
The recent episode which has created uncertainty is the announcement of Pakistan cricket team squad without a captain for a series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE). In his previous interviews and press conferences he assured that Shahid
Afridi would remain the captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket team in T20s and One day Internationals (ODIs). Now he has taken a U-turn by claiming that he never made such statement.
This type of uncertainty surrounding the team has made Pakistan a laughing stock and things look to get worse, if this man remains in charge of PCB. Not only this, he has also sacked Pakistan’s fielding coach Ijaz Ahmed and assistant manager http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shafqat-Rana-c89305
in order to save his post, which is under threat as his reign is about to finish.
He has been so arrogant that he has forced his relative Yawar Saeed to step down to win back the lost prestige but as he did one right he equalled it with another wrong.
It doesn’t make sense at all to announce a team without a skipper. How can a ship survive a storm without a captain? But who cares, all the other top officials in the board remain tight-lipped, as they don’t want to get parted with their big money jobs.
In addition to his current lies, he was also seen speaking live on different channels that two Pakistan’s cricketers were involved in match-fixing. Those words came after Pakistan snatched a defeat from the jaws of victory when Mike Hussey guided Australians
to remarkable victory in Sydney Test, which will go down as one of the best Test matches of all time in history books.
Mike Hussey was helped by Kamran Akmal who dropped four catches. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 was certainly referring to Akmal as one of the two players involved in match-fixing but few days later he changed his verdict. His new version of the story came as that he was referring
to former cricketers, and he never questioned the credibility of any of the current players.
Moreover, after conceding a whitewash at the hands of Aussies an inquiry committee was set up. On the findings of inquiry committee Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were banned for life whereas Shoaib Malik received one year ban. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, Kamran and
Umar Akmal were handed fines.
Shoaib Malik’s ban was overturned by Ijaz Butt himself saying that it is a gift for his wedding with Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza. Mohammad Yousuf was furious and announced retirement from cricket whereas Rana Naved appealed against the ban, but his plea
was never heard by the chairman PCB.
Younis fought his case and won it. His victory over PCB’s ban meant that he was eligible for the tour of England. But as Mr. Butt had done throughout his career as chairman, he forced his authority over selection committee not to pick Younis Khan for the
tour of England. Above all, shockingly he called back Mohammad Yousuf for England tour; a man who was banned and never appealed against his punishment. There couldn’t be a bigger disparity than the calling of Yousuf and snubbing off Younis.
A captain who guided Pakistan to T20 world cup triumph is being treated like this, which is a shame for the country. Ijaz Butt should immediately set aside his personal egos and call back Younis as only Pakistan cricket is suffering due to personal differences
and the whole world is making fun of PCB.
