Ijaz Butt says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has no problem playing India on Indian soil – ICC World Cup 2011
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Ijaz Butt, has no worries over his team playing its crucial World Cup semi-final game against India on Indian soil. Enormously delighted over his team’s convincing victory in the first quarter-final of the ICC World
Cup 2011, the PCB chief is quite satisfied with the scenario in India.
"I don`t see any problems for Pakistan team playing in India, and I have also asked the players to not worry about anything and just focus 100 per cent on cricket," Butt said.
Butt gave full credit to Afridi and company for putting up an excellent performance in the tournament despite the dire circumstances Pakistan cricket is going through. The chairman also made it clear that Pakistan has no concerns over security measures taken
by Indian administration for the safety of players.
"We have been given assurances of foolproof security for our players by the Indian authorities, so we are not worried at all, but we are also closely in touch with the security officials," the chief added.
Earlier in the tournament, Shiv Sena, a right wing Hindu party, issued several threatening statements regarding the Pakistan team’s arrival in their country. A Shiv Sena spokesman said that they would not allow the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 without
permission of their chief, Bal Thackeray.
Pakistan has not played on the Indian soil since 2007 when they last toured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
Ijaz Butt is also expected to be in India to watch the decisive contest between the two arch-rivals at Mohali on 30 http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391. He will also be meeting Indian board authorities for official discussion.
The chairman vowed that if team comes back home with the coveted trophy, the players will be showered with huge prize money by the PCB.
It should be noted that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 has always been criticised for his poor performance as a head of Pakistan Cricket. Butt’s tenure holds a lot of bitter memories such as spot-fixing, terrorist attacks on the Sri Lankan team and Pakistan’s termination as
a host country of ICC World Cup 2011.
