Chairman of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board (PCB), Ijaz Butt, has claimed the board offered former captain, Wasim Akram, a coaching responsibility, which he refused.
According to Butt, Pakistan’s former left-hand fast bowler, Akram, preferred to work in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 instead of working for Pakistan.
He stated that, Akram has always been in interested in money, that’s why he was not willing to accept the coaching task in Pakistan.
However, according newspaper reports, the PCB chairman appreciated the former left-handed opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-c88163 Butt’s batting technique.
Meanwhile, the legendary fast bowler, Akram refused Butt’s claims.
Akram clarified that he has never been invited by the governing body of cricket in Pakistan for coaching. He went on to say that if PCB offered him a respectable position, then it would be his pleasure to make himself available for his country.
The king of swing bowling, who helped Pakistan win the World Cup in 1992, asked the cricket board to learn how to respect cricketers.
Once again, he criticized the PCB for treating former captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Afridi’s case wrongly, and disagreed with the board’s decision to sack the star all-rounder as limited overs captain. He said, "It was wrong to sack Afridi, who has recently brought glory
to the country against all odds".
Akram was unhappy with the decision, and termed it as illogical and insolent way to discharge the hard-hitting batman, Afridi.
Earlier, Akram condemned another decision taken by the PCB, to appoint http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-Khan-Niazi-c76385 as One Day International (ODI) captain.
In response, Ijaz Butt criticized Akram while participating in a local TV show, and advised him to focus on his commitments in India.
"He should look at his past and record and then give such statements. I don’t want to say anything here but Wasim would be better off doing commentary in India", Butt expressed.
Akram was considered as one of the best fast bowlers in the World. He represented his country in 104 Test matches, took 414 Test wickets, and played 356 ODIs, picking up 502 wickets.
