The Real Madrid skipper has refused to blame his teammate in wake of his side’s defeat in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 on Tuesday.
The goalkeeper has expressed that no one can be accused of letting Los Blancos down and that playing against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena was overall a difficult task.
Jose Mourinho’s men travelled away from home to lock horns with German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, in the first leg of this year’s UEFA Champions League semi-final. The match that took place on Tuesday saw the Bavarians emerge 2-1 victorious over the
Spanish giants.
Generally it was a good performance by Madrid; however, they failed to keep the scores level at 1-1 and conceded a late goal through Mario Gomez.
Real’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 and Fabio Coentrao were far from impressive throughout the match and failed to make a positive impact and were poor in keeping the Bayern strikers at bay.
Coentrao, in particular, has been received by criticism by the Merengues faithful, as many believe the defender was responsible for Munich’s second goal.
Apart from getting booked after a clumsy challenge on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521, the player gave a poor show of football.
However, Casillas has jumped to the defence of the Portuguese international, admitting that the Bavarian attack created a lot of problems for the visitors.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 was particularly impressive for Jupp Heynckes' men and demonstrated why he is counted amongst the best full-backs in the world.
While talking to reporters, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 was quoted as saying:
"We are sad because we conceded that last goal, but we are confident we will overturn this. I think Coentrao had a good match, he had to control Robben who’s a great player, but in the last minute he was faced with Lahm, who’s a very vertical threat and
he slipped, that’s bad luck, not a bad performance."
Although Los Vikingos suffered defeat on their visit to the Allianz Arena, they have returned with an advantage of an away goal. Can they overturn the defeat in the first leg and qualify for the final? Time will tell.
