Ile De Re set to succeed in the John Smith´s Northumberland Plate at Newcastle
Ile De Re is the one to watch out for in the John Smith´s Northumberland Plate (Heritage Handicap) which is due to take place at Newcastle on 30th June, 2012, over the marathon distance of 2 miles and 19 yards.
Breaking from post 9, the Donald McCain trained runner will be ridden by rider, Jim Crowley.

The trainer seems exceptionally pleased with his form, and believes that he can land the victory. Everything seems to be working in favour of the runner including the heavy surface of the track.
The trainer commented:
“Since Chester this has been the target and everything has gone smoothly. The ground is going to be in his favour, I don't see why the track shouldn't suit and we're hoping for a big run.”
The six-year-old claimed a magnificent victory at Chester, when he competed in the StanJames.com Chester Cup (Heritage Handicap).
It was a rampant run by Ile De Re, and covered the distance of 2 miles and 2 ½ furlongs on a soft track, and defeated his stable-mate, Overturn, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Rider, Silvestre De Sousa, will be aboard, Gulf Of Naples, for trainer Mark Johnston. The grey colt finished fourth in the Group 1 Gold Cup (British Champions Series) at Royal Ascot under the same rider, which covered a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs.
The son of Dubawi narrowly lost the victory to, Colour Vision, by 1 ¾ lengths. The rider is hoping that the runner can perform up to the mark in this race as well, and he seems excited about the opportunity of riding this colt again.
To the press, he stated:
"There's a bit more to come from him and he's going to win a big race, I hope, this year. He's a nice horse and has been improving all year. The Gold Cup was a big race, he ran a blinder, but he did not have a hard time out there.”
The victory belongs to Ile De Re in this race and here’s why. He is in the perfect form to race, the surface of the track suits him, and he has all the motivation in the world to keep him going.
