The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is satisfied with the pre-season, but admits that there is still room for the team to improve.
The Borussians reached the final of the LigaTotal Cup in preparation for the pre-season, but lost to Werder Bremen on penalties. The side defeated Hamburg SV in the last four stage however; the German champions failed to carry
in with their good form and lost in the final to the River Islanders.
Gundogan feels that his team could have done better in the final and the midfielder admitted that the team did not take their chances to score. The player added that Dortmund will take on Bayern Munich in the DFL-Supercup final
in a week’s time, and this is certainly not the form they would want to go at the Allianz Arena with.

win before the start of the campaign for any side would be a confidence booster.
“I think the game showed that we are not 100% fit yet but we did well in spells and played quite well but there is still plenty of room for improvement. We want to defend our title in the final tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.

to the opening game against Werder Bremen on August 24.
“It’s quite good at this stage in our pre-season preparations which are pretty full-on at the moment, so a shorter game is welcome, I guess,” he concluded.
