Ill Chuck Pagano watches Andrew Luck help Indianapolis Colts thrash Miami Dolphins – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ ill head coach Chuck Pagano watched his team’s performance from the coaching box and it was his first appearance for the team since being diagnosed with Leukaemia.
The official is under treatment at a local hospital but was predicted to come by owner Jim Irsay a couple of days earlier. He marked the occasion by seeing his rookie quarterback Andrew Luck giving record performance. He broke the league’s best yardage in
a single game record at 433 yards. Previously held record was 432 yards.
Although the coach appeared to be pleased with his team performance, he avoided direct contact with media, mainly because of health reasons. All members of the organisation were nevertheless were happy about having the official among them.
Interim coach Bruce Arians has already talked about dedicating wins to the ill coach and was particularly more excited at the arrival of his boss at the ground.
Arian, since taking over the Colts as a makeshift coach, has done rather well. He has led the side to some comprehensive wins as one against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday (Nov. 04).
Irsay, who had speculated return of Chuck for the game on Sunday, was impressed with his team performance. The game also provided the owner a sense of relief that his offence leader was doing his best. The owner has regularly taken battering from fans and
commentators over his choice of letting former quarterback Peyton Manning go and preferring rookie Andrew Luck over him.
Although the team has not provided an official update about treatment of Pagano, some media sections have claimed that first round of chemotherapy is done and the coach is expected to undergo the second round later this week.
There is no information as such about the results of the first round of the therapy although the coach’s health shows it was rather as per plans. The entire Colts’ organisation has wished the coach a speedy recovery to full health. Some of them were in fact
in tears on finding about the coach’s illness.
