  1. Don't invest in a pair of lederhosen while your there, these are german trousers, knee length and made of leather. You'll just look like a t**t.

  2. Bring comfortable shoes because you will walk EVERYWHERE! And make sure you bring an appetite because German food is soooooo good.  (especially the candy, Kinder Eggs are the stuff!) Get a handy little phrase book because even though most Germans speak English it is still nice to know a few helpful things in the native language. And if you are near the Rhine Valley check out the castles along the Rhine, they are absolutely fascinating.

  3. Germany is a great place the people are so friendly i was there this past October i had the time of my life.  To show you how nice people are i droped 10 eruo and a guy picked it up and chaced me down to give it back.  the best way to trave is by train you can get a mulit stop pass your best deal and you can resirve a seat for like 3 euro (a really good idea).  It really depends on the the time of year you want to go if you are going over the summer make plans before going, if not then make them when you get there it is more fun that way because you are not on a schedual.  I stayed in hostels and it was great most have lockers so you dont have to worry about your stuff and you can get one person rooms unstead of staying in a room with lots of people, they only issue i had was that they will put guys and girls in the same room.  You can do a search of germany hostels and it will give you a good list and will discribe the. every one i went to they spoke english and gave really good advice about what to see.  The train scheduals are easy to read and the people at the information both are really nice and usualy speek english.  I rented a car also it was not very expensive but if you do get one with gps so you dont have to worry about looking at a map.  driving is not very hard and most of the road signs are the same as over here.  Good luck have fun it is a great place to go.  If you have any more questions let me know i would be glad to help.

  4. Yup I agree see the castles.

  5. There are not many things to be weary of while travelling through Germany. If you plan to rent a car, the gas is quite expensive here. One of the traffic rules is, 'rechts vor links', which means right before left. If you do no see a yellow and white triangle sign, then the person coming out of a side street has the right of way. Driving on any AutoBahn can be scary. There are times when a driver can drive without any posted speed limit, so best stay in the right lane, and keep out of their way. Its hard to slow a car down that is travelling at 220 km/hour. When eating at restaurants, and you cannot finish your food, don't ask for a 'doggy bag', cause here that is not a normal thing like in North America. While here try and visit as many historical buildings as possible. They have beautiful castles and old cities to see. Other then that not much else.
