Illegal Eviction or What?

ok so i was having this debate with my mom, that if you allowed someone to live rent free with you for over a year and their not on the lease can you just up and kick them out or in other words evict them? My mom is 44 and think she knows everything just cuz I'm in HS.

wrong. even if you are living completely rent free you are still subject to renters law. even squatters* have to be legally evicted. you still get the proper notices through the proper channels even though you dont pay rent.
