Illegal Immigration across the Mexican border?

I know the topic of illegal immigration comes up a lot, and I have a question- One of the most highly supported and hyped "solutions" is to build a giant fence across the border between Texas and Mexico. If the Freaking Great Wall of China couldn't keep the Mongols out of China, what are the odds that a dingy little fence will keep desperate Illegal Immigrants from fence hopping?

The fence will not keep them out, I don't believe it will even slow them down. It is a smoke and mirror tactic to cause the American people that something is actually being done about the border. And you are correct the wall did not keep the Mongols out.

Forget any "great" stories you heard about the wall. It won't work, because one way or the other, the immigrants will find a way to seep through.

some comedian said it best. go ahead and build the wall by noon its going to be used as roofing material.  the mongols did cout they nquer china but they where over thrown by the leaders that started the Ming dynesty.

THe great wall never was breached.    The problem was that China became so corrupt that there was not enough troops to defend CHina , and the Mongols just walked in.   The issue here is that we must hire enough borer patrol to defend the fence as well as to build the fence.

Well if the great wall didnt keep the mongols out, why do they still call it China and not Mongolia?  I learned it was corruption and opiates that destroyed that dynasty.

Build the fence and defend it with whatever means necessary.  Of course a fence alone will do little, but a fence defended by our guns and ammo will sure as heck keep 'em out!  Deport them and keep them out!

Actually, it did keep the Mongols out.

The US wall would be just a small part of the total system used to close off the border.
