Is it illegal as a minor to carry a small (2.5") folding pocketknife with you in Utah?

  1. Usually blade limit on pocket knife is 3" so you should be safe. Never had any cops say anything about my Swiss Army knife when I was out there.

  2. According to Utah State Code 76-10-501.It is indeed illegal to carry a concealed knife in Utah. This law applies the same (if you have a concealed weapons permit) as if you were to want a fully auto gun or a sawed off shotgun under 18 inches. Now... there is one exception. If the knife can be seen, such as a clip out of your pocket with a little bit of the (closed) knife showing, then it is legal to carry (with a concealed weapons permit) because that metal clip is showing and the knife would no longer be concealed. Just make sure it is never displayed in a threatening manner unless in self defense.

    Best of luck
