Illegal to talk bad to a off duty law enforcement??

if a law enforcement guy talks bad to you for no reason

can u talk back to him not like threatening

i mean like cursing him out

You do have the right to talk back if they do so, however I wouldn't recommend it, keep your cool and just walk away.  But don't fear you can get in trouble.  If he was to hit you you can hit back however! If he stops you need to stop.  IF you keep hitting one person and they stop you went from being the victim to being the predator and can face jail time.  If however you get hit and you hit back and they continue to fight you are legally defending yourself and can take that officer to court.

The key issue: if he is being ignorant, and I am an officer, and so are you, then there should be no punishment for either because both have punished themselves.

If you hit me, and I hit you, we are both wrong.  

If i tell you I am a police officer and you need to stop arguing, and I never hit you or cussed at you, and you hit me, then you are wrong.

Main point: ignorance will breed ignorance; so make sure you are smart and choose to act according to the law and you will never encounter this dilemma.

as long as you're not threatening the officer, you can say whatever you want to the police, on or off duty (in america).

Yes. If he talks bad to you, get his badge number and report him.

No it isn't illegal but if you threaten him or hit him it will still count as if he was a uniformed officer so go on be an a*****e. :)
