Illinois Zombie Lady Bugs?

Question

Took the old '55 Pan out to N.I.U. in Dekalb to check out all the college girls and on the way kept hitting tons of Lady Bugs. My Snoopy glasses were completely bug fouled. Stopped by a field to wipe them clean and a swarm of these Zombie Lady Bugs jumped me and darn near ate all the exposed flesh away. What the heck are these things? They look like Lady Bugs but a little more red color with vicious teeth. I thought all the mutants were in Chicago.

i live not too far from the area and these tiny little monsters are a species of japanese beetle that plague the area they look like lady bugs but they are vicious

Dinah S"w***e, being a native chicagoan, lake michigan is h**l on the winter and O'hare h**l on the pocketbook.  i moved away from the windy city many moons ago.  the ladybugs you encountered are from the aphids stuck in your teeth, or should i say 1 toof.  dont worry bout the ladybugs, just stay out of Crook County and avoid all the d**n handgun legislation.  My kind of town, chicago is.......
