Illinois to Paris. Who much is the airfare!?

I was gonna go to Paris ths summer(lyk a school trip) but i'm going to the Philippines instead. The round airfare to Paris is something lyk $1700 for a week which I thought was cheap considering they're going to Louvre, Eiffel Tower, battle site in Normandy, and many more places. What would be the airfare f i'm going to Paris with my cousins a year from now? Where should we go?

$1700 is a pretty hefty airfare. Was that was the price for the entire trip?

For airfare only, you should expect to pay something like $1200 RT during the high season (summer months) from Chicago and only a few dollars more from St. Louis (if you're downstate).

Its a LOT cheaper if you travel in the off season. If you're only planning on a week you might consider traveling during Spring Break or at Thanksgiving. if you do the airfare will likely be a third or more less expensive.
