  1. thats new to me i never herd that

  2. you are 12, you shouldn't travel alone in foreigner countries.

  3. yeah it is true. You should try not to let that happen to you.

  4. yes

  5. Please Please Please, do not go alone! There are some sick people out there and you're very young. You may not want to hear that but it's the truth and there's nothing wrong with that.

This friend of yours, how did you meet? via internet? She  may not be who she says she is, or she very well be. I don't know. My point is I could send you some random pic I found and say that, that's me.

Please just reconsider, go in a few years, there's no rush.

    Take care hun.

  6. Vietnam is a safe place to travel... just remember to show respect and you  shouldn't have any truobles.

  7. infact, thats true, alot of people, i think kidnap kids then force them to sell those lottery tickets in vietnam, and you cant run sicne thell always be near buy, but not all kids that sell lottery in vietnam are kidnapped though, but i heard thailand people might come and kidnap kids near there country and take it back over there

  8. Yea its true.

  9. False, but you could get kidnapped not sold though. I wouldn't even go because you don't know if this girl could be someone else. And vietnam tickets are expensive and traveling alone could be very hard.

  10. It's unsafe for any 12-year-old to travel anywhere unchaperoned by an adult, much less to another country.

I wouldn't let my child go, unless I was going with them. And yes, abductions do happen.

  11. yes it is theres not many people in vietnam that like americans i wouldnt travel alone their

  12. No...I don't think so.

There is nothing specific about traveling to Vietnam that would give reason to believe this would happen...

If your parents want to believe that...well children can get kidnapped anywhere in the world, including in the U.S.

Anyhow I wouldn't recommend any 12 year old traveling out of country (anywhere not just to VN) by themselves...

If I had a 12 yr. old child I would not allow it.

Did you know that tickets to VN right now are really high?

From California it costs around $1500.00

  13. Yes It is I Read About It If Your American....You Cost Lots Of Money!

  14. I haven't heard of any American kids getting kidnapped. The risk might be from your fellow Euro-American travelers who go there to prey on children.  So do not go alone.

  15. no don't believe it, it's prejudice and stereotype ... all false, have  a great trip, glad i could help

  16. well.. I dont think you can go by yourself.

I have it from a good source that minors under 15 years of age do not travel under their own passport.  Your photo, etc will be included with your gaudians passport.  I do not think the Vietnamese embassy will give you a visa without your own passport..

They would not steal you in most of Vietnam...but still if your parents let you go by yourself... that sounds irresponsible.

  17. Viet Nam is one of the safest places I have ever been - and I have lived and worked in a lot of different places!

Americans are NOT a target in Viet Nam. I recently returned from there, having lived there for over 4 years, and having worked from the Chinese border on the north, along the Lao border, down to about 400 km from HCMC (Saigon). No one ever bothered me, no one ever criticized me as an American.

I suspect your parents are being rather timid in saying no - so they give excuses rather than argue.

Now having said that, there IS a problem with human trafficking (as there is in the US and elsewhere), and women and children are the main victims.

12 years old is too young to travel unchaperoned across town, let alone around the world. And there is the rather expensive cost of getting from the US to Viet Nam and back.

There are programs that arrange for trips to Viet Nam, and other countries. There are also programs that would allow your friend to come to the US - foreign exchange student programs are one that comes to mind.

You and your friend should start doing some research - she can look for opportunities in Viet Nam that you might be able to benefit from in a few years; you can look for opportunities in the US (Rotary Club, foreign exchange programs, and others).

Viet Nam is a really neat place, the people are very, very nice, and the food is great - I recommend that you start doing the research to get to visit there when the time is right.

    Good luck!

  18. You're nuts if your a chick going to Vietnam alone! Are you sure you're talking to a little girl? You don't even know her- what if its a scam to harm you???  Have you gone mad?   you better watch your back over there, especially in Saigon.   those creepy little peasants will follow you back to your hotel and try to assault you.  bring a hunting knife strapped to your ankle under your boot.  go to the sporting good store and get some pepper spray too.  you just spray them once and they will become submissive and cough a lot.  one good thing about these Vietnam people is, once you show you ain't gonna take their c**p,  they give in quick  and zip up their little mouths.   don't let them touch your pockets.  they will put their hand in it like that gameshow of "The Price Is Right."

  19. It isn't any kind of stereo type at all as "This answer is right, u know it says". Many girls around your age often get raped and kidnappings do happen. i wouldn't reccommend you to travel by yourself. ask if your parents could come with you

and i wouldn't be visiting a girl i met online, people are always pretending to be peers to lure you

  20. well do you actually know this girl? or did you just meet her online?

  21. yes it is
