  1. dim mak is nothing mystical, has nothing to do with mastering the "i ching" ..its just a book for crying outloud (the i ching that is). and noone is going to seek you out to learn it.

dim mak is simply pressure point fighting. called kyusho jutsu in japanese. it is basically the antithesis of accupuncture. same points, same meridians, same energy, different order, different use. different results.

no it's not strange that you study it. it isn't as dangerous and deadly as everyone seems to make it out to be. half the time it doesn't even work. so don't go thinking you'll be learning these secret ancient killing with one finger technqiues. or any "delayed death touch" kinda stuff.

kyusho/dim mak is just another set of skills that add to what you already do (ie..kung fu, karate, jujutsu, hapkido) ...it does NOT replace your other training, it compliments it.

i'd recommend concentrating on the foundation of your fighting arsenal...ie your martial art. not dim mak/kyusho. become a good fighter/practitioner first. you have plenty of time to add pressure points to what you're doing.

  2. Dim Mak is very difficult because you use chi. You could not possibly learn it from a book and it takes decades to even begin to be able to use it. Half of it uses pressure points and the other half is chi. For now the pressure point techniques will help, but they don't work on everyone. Also considering that finding a Dim Mak instructor would be very difficult I would suggest you choose another martial art.

  3. .....I Ching is a book..... quite frankly, I'm insulted by some of the answers.... Chi doesn't really have much to do with Dim Mak, Dim Mak is just about human reflexes and soft, weak parts of the body.... reading a book about Dim Mak doesn't mean you know anything about it at all, let alone studying it.... there's nothing people can reccomend really, because Dim Mak is not taught in the states, the only real instructor of Dim Mak lives in Taiwan now.... You're not making a great first impression.... Age has nothing to do with martial arts, but you don't really 'know about' Dim Mak..... You know the applications but not the technique....

  4. LOL!!!!

    Kid, you really don't know.

Bujincrap Non-ja - you are not knowledgeable in martial arts. Refrain from answering here as your answers are wrong.

  5. The Dim Mak is a chi based technique. You can't learn it from a book.

There are teachers, but you must first master i-ching, then they will seek you out to determine your willingness.

  6. At 13, I would not recommend studyig the "touch of death".

Focus on becoming great at martial arts, not hoping to have the "ultimate move".

  7. anyone can read a book. ive read medical books but it doesnt make me a doctor. if you want to learn dim mak, first become proficient in its core arts, tai chi or bagua zhang, among other styles of kung fu. qualified teachers in dim mak are very scarce, and nobody credible would teach it to a novice, let alone a minor. so if you want to learn it go about it the right way, keep reading but get formal training, and prepare for it to be a lifelong education, not learn the death touch in 3 easy lessons.

  8. You can study it, but if you want self defense, i wouldn't recommend this

For self defense krav maga, for sport BJJ,  for kicking and punching only Mau- Tai, for kicks mostly Savate

Krav maga for self defense, its an Israel self defense used by Israelis anti terror unit, for any age size, weight, strength, its all about technique, speed, and mind set
