  1. Not it most certainly does not. Running develops the muscles of your legs, stomach, and is good for indurance training. It will not affect your growth at all, your growth depends on genetics and you as a person everybody's body works differently. Hope this helps!

  2. no, i don't think so...moms usually lie to their kids about stuff like this

  3. Mom is wrong on that one. I would encourage you to run.  What a great positive habit to have.

  4. uhh, no.  I run 6-8 miles a day for cross-country and I'm like 6'2 and i gain an inch or so every year lately.  Running is natural for humans and every other species on 2 or four (or more) legs.  If anything affects your growth it will be genetically related or possibly from malnutrition, but definitely not running.

    Keep running.

  5. no it does not affect your gorwth at all. If you hit the weights hard if your under 18 years old yes it will affect your growth but running will not affect it. However, you can get serious knee problems. Most runners by the age of 30-40 have to get a knee replacment depending on the amount of running you do. If you are to run try to keep off the roads and run on the grass.

  6. No.  Not at all.

I probably started seriously running when I was about 4'5" or something.  Now I'm 5'4" (16 year old girl).  It definately does NOT affect growth.  Plus, I know some very good runners that are 6+ feet.
