  1. my high school team shot around 288 for a one day 4 person score. granted all 4 of us now play on some osrt of pro circuit. one plays on pga myself and another plays on nation wide and the other plays on the hooters tour.... we had a loaded team. won states 4 years in a row.

  2. i have the same handicap as you but i dont want to go to a big time school but a smaller d2 or d3 but u can for sure go d2 and maybe d1 if you work hard

  3. High school yes, College no.

But you are only 13. I am willing to bet that if you play high school and continue practicing that you will be good enough for college by the time you are 16 or 17! Keep up the good work!

  4. The best thing you can do right now is to start building a fundamentally sound swing that will set the foundation you need for the future.  You can only go so far with "decent" swing mechanics.  Ask around to see who's the best swing coach.  If you like him, stick with him.  Become a student of the game.   If you want to become a great golfer you have to become obsessed with the game.  Everyday, dawn till dusk, rangeballs, putting, chipping, bunkers, practive every shot imaginable.  Also, try to play with players better than you.  This will help your game ALOT.  If you feel yourself burning out, take a break.  Also, a whole lot of golf is in between your ears.  A good book to help with the mental game is "The Inner Game of Golf".   Look into playing some local tournaments.  After you have some success in these start looking for a regional junior golf tour.  If you keep it up I bet the coach will already know your name by the time you're a freshman!  Whether you know it or not, you're already good enough for high school, but, do you want to be good or great?!  Just stay outta trouble in high school.  Keep up the hard work and it will pay off in the end.  Good Luck!!

  5. You rock, Tiger!  They'll be happy to have you!  Best wishes.

  6. Great start for sure!

Just remember, today's successes often lead to tomorrow's failures.

In other words, don't get complacent!  You obviously have some skills, so now works towards perfection.  Good luck and keep working hard.

  7. When I played in high school, the best players shot in the high 70's and I probably shot low eighties (and we had a good team).   This was 15 years ago but I would guess things haven't changed that much!  A 9 handicap should get you on the high school golf team.  You have a long way to go before thinking about college golf (definitely scratch golfer).  Pretty stiff competition at that level.  Just keep practicing and enjoy the game.  It's a game you will play for a long time regardless.

  8. A 9 handicap is very good for 7th grade.  As long as you keep practicing and learn how to focus you can do anything you want.  There is a big difference when you start playing in front of a crowd and the pressure is on, which is one reason Tiger is so good.  Keep in mind that playing golf in college is a full time thing, they play spring and fall seasons and practice every day.  Keep practicing, don't burn yourself out, and have fun.  Get into some competitive tournaments for Junior Golfers and you're well on your way.
