  1. Don't watch television, use the computer or play electronic games in the evening (after7pm) - these activities may be too stimulating.  Take a soothing bath and read a good book instead.  Try to go to bed around 10 pm, make it as dark as you can in  your room, no lights, night lights, turn your alarm clock around so the light from clock doesn't light the room.  Set your alarm for 7 or 8 am and when it rings get up, do not take naps, you need to reset your body clock.  During the daytime, be more active, walk, swim, bike ride so at night you're good and tired.  Hope this helps

  2. you are going to have to force yourself to get up earlier every morning, jump in the shower and get moving! Stay up do not take a nap then go to bed earlier at night. After a couple weeks your body will adjust. You could try taking say tylenol pm or nyquil around 8pm so you will fall asleep earlier which will make getting up easier

  3. Your body has an internal "clock". Once you start periodically waking up and going to sleep at a certain time, your brain finds it very hard to shut off and turn off at different times. Say if you went to sleep at 10:00 P.M. and woke up at 8:00 A.M. for a week, your body wouldn't want to fall asleep until ten, or wake up until 8. Get it?

  4. gosh im the same way and my mom is like you need to get up and im like i cant and i cant fall asleep early. set an alarm for like elevan and then try to work from there

  5. teenagers are simply nocturnal, your internal clock will shift and you will go to bed late and sleep late due to hormones, its alright to do in the summer time, but during the school year exercise to relase all that extra energy so you will fall asleep earlier and set an alarm to wake up ealier.

  6. Try going out for a run for 10 minutes or so, this will make you fall asleep sooner.

  7. One hour before you want to go to sleep  don't eat anything, esspesially junk food. Also milk also makes me tried so maybe it will for you too.

  8. Set an alarm, go to bed like you usually do but set an alarm to get you up at 10 am and really get up. You need to eat as soon as you wake up and actually do something and TV and computer dont count! Get more active than you are now and force a schedule on your body. Get tired and eat properly and go to bed at 10 or 11pm. Do not eat about 2 hours before you are going to go to sleep.

  9. i just got over the sameee problem!

i couldn't go to sleep any earlier than 6 am.

So a couple of nights i pulled all nighters and didn't go to bed the next day until late that night.

I finally started getting up around 8 am or 9 am recently.

    ;]

    try that.

    & i hope i helped.

  10. I haven't found much helps with that. You can try waking up early but you're natural sleep pattern is what it is.

  11. maybe cause you wake up ;ate

like me when im outta school i go to sleep late and wake up late  but when i go back to school i wake up at 7 and go to sleep at 10

  12. OK, I have had sleep problems since I was a teenager, and I had learned to turn that to my advantage.  But I had to get out of college and get a night job before my sleep rhythm fit into my life.

NOW, that does not solve your problem.  You need to get some medical advise and the sooner the better.  Treat this as a true illness now and you can get some peace later on.

    I would suggest several things.

First, make a lof of when you prepare to go to bed and when you feel sleepy.  (I know this sounds odd, but you can do it.  You can generally know when you tried to go to sleep the night befoer and write it down that morning.  You may be getting more sleep than you think)

Second, get physical exercise at least every other day if not daily.  (this will release a wonderful array of natural chemicals that will also affect the circadian cycle)

Third, take a shower just before your planned bed time. (often will relax people)

Fourth, look at taking something like Melatonin.  You are young, do not get addicted to Over The Counter (OTC) sleep aids.  OTC stuff does build up an addiction if you use it for extended times.  I do not know what the dangers are for teenagers, but I would hazard that it would be habit forming.

Fifth, cut out the sugar and the fats in your diet.  And add more water.  (this helped me)

Sixth, are you taking "cat naps" during the day.  Like one commenter said, do not do that and you can get your circadian cycle back into a more 'normal' routine.

Lastly, I am a chronic insominiac.  Have been for over 20 years.  I get by with about 4 hours of sleep a night.  I have gone as long as 7 days without sleep; after the third day, you kind of are in a haze and it is not a good place to be.  I am finally getting some help with my sleep cycle.  Lack of quality predictable sleep patterns will have influence in all parts of your body and personality.

Take care of this while you are young.  See a professional.

    I hope that helps.

  13. Wake yourself up with an alarm really early on a nite you go to sleep late.

You'll be so tired that day so you'll go to sleep early =]

    i had the same problem

  14. This is because you sleep in that you can't get to sleep before 1 am. That is just how teenagers are, they stay up and sleep in. What you have to do is just set your alarm for 9 am or 10 am one day (and get up and stay up..its going to suck for about an hour but then your will be better) then you will pry be able to go to bed a couple hours earlier.. try that a few times and you will be fine.. your body will get on a more regular sleep pattern

  15. probably because you are used to that. Make yourself get up early tomorrow morning and don't take naps and you will fall asleep earlier than 1 am and wake earlier than 12 pm

  16. Well you're like me, I can never fall sleep early too.

I usually end up going to sleep at around 2:00am & this is on an average night.

  17. pull an all-nighter, you'll be tired the next day, so once you hit the time you want to sleep, then go to bed at that time, that's what usually works for me.

  18. do u wake up numerous times in the middle of the night??

u may have insomnia. i think you should talk to your doctor about this

  19. Try putting your alarm on tomorrow morning for 7:00 AM and make sure you wake up and stay up. By night time, you should be pretty tired around 9-10 PM. Also, try not to eat so late at night, because it might give you more energy and prevent you from sleeping.

  20. lol i have the same problem. if u cant sleep early and u have to wake up the next day early (like around 6 or 7 am) ur going to start sleeping early the next day.

  21. SAME WITH ME...im the same age and everything, but it just sounds like youre nocturnal, like me...=D i fixed it by staying up for a full  twenty-four hours...

  22. Because that's the sleep cycle you've developed. Some people go to bed at 10pm every night and wake up at 4am every morning. If you want to change it just set an alarm for when you want to get up and try going to bed earlier. Lie in bed with your eyes closed or if you have sleeping pills take a half of one until you can fall asleep easily and wake up rested. It'll take a few nights.

  23. Most teenagers find that there natural sleep cycle perfers going to be late and getting up late.  You may find that you need more sleep than you did when you were a p*****n.  The problem is very few schools will let you show up at 1:00.

  24. if you are on vacations its fine because when u got school u get tired n its easy to fall asleep so 3 hrs b4 u go to sleep n that would be before 12 or 1 do something like a sport or during the day make urself tired

  25. Stay awake all night then all day then just go to bed when you want to and set an alarm til you get into a routine.

  26. i'm 14 and i'm kinda in the same situation, i cant sleep before 12:30 around there, but, idk what imma do when school starts!!!

  27. this is because teenagers biological clocks don't switch off until around this time. Which is later than an adults / childs / etc .

There's not that much you can do, but you could try relaxing for 1-2 hours before you get into bed, also try some lavender spray to put on your pillow. Helps you to relax and fall asleep ♥

    xo

  28. you should get someone to force you awake at 9 or whenever you want to get up. do this for a few days without napping and you'll start going to sleep earlier. i had the same problem, this idea works.

  29. me too! i always fall asleep at 3. i'll get in bed at 11 and just stare at the clock listening to my ipod til like 3, then i wake up at three.

i have to get in a better sleeping habbit!

    im 13 too.

  30. i have the same problem..try 2 make your self tired...read a boring book or turn all the lights off in your room and think until u fall asleep...also try 2 dance until u r tired

  31. same here!
