Im 14, i just started doing boys gymnastics my goal is to be a in the USA gymnastic team before i turrn 18?

yes, but if that is your goal. you defiantly have your work cut out for you. but nothing is impossible as long you set your mind to it.

i'm not sure about boys gymnastics, but i know in girls gymnastics, if you start at 14 you are quite old and everyone else will be younger.

It is because when you are younger you are more flexible..

It depends at what level you start and how fast you progress through the levels. Have you done any form or acrobatics or gymnastics before that might help?

You should develop your strength at home away from the gym, but only using your own body weight; so not weights yet, because they will stunt your growth. So do things like pushups, crunches, leg raises.. etc.. whatever u do at gym... so practice all the strength activities you do at gym at home. also your flexibility... because it won't be as good as younger people..

If you stick at it and practice and train your *** off, you could have some hope.. a gymnasts career is relatively short, but you may choose to continue it past 18, and longer if you do not reach your goal yet..

A lot of the team would have been doing gymnastics since they were quite young, so just be aware of how much of their lives have been dedicated to gymnastics compared to you starting at 14.

Yes, young person it is very possible! The most important thing you MUST DO  is exactly what your Coach instructs you to do! If you are really serious about this decision you must realize it's going to take much discipline. You are going to actually miss out on many things a young person gets to do, because you are going to be in the gym working your butt off while your old friends are at parties, the lake boating, swimming, going to amusement parks, etc....!

Realistically, unless you have a major talent that for some reason was not discovered until now, I don't think it is. These kids start earlier than 14.

anything is possible... just believe in yourself... and as the saying goes, "if at first you don't succeed, try and try again" and you also have to practice  real hard... and you'll see, all your hard work will someday be worth it! goodluck. :)
