I run, bike, swim....I would like to learn martial arts. The most Ive ever biked at one time is 14 miles. I do cross country and track. Is it still possible to live my dream.

My mom told me if I want to go to beijing olypics, I should have started as a child.

Is there still hope? eh?

  1. impossible. there wont be another beijing olympics. for a very long time. maybe london?

  2. Like little lild0peboi said there won't be another Beijing olympics for a long time but it would be possible to go into another olympics one day

  3. Well, the Bejing Olympics will be over soon, so I doubt you will be able to qualify by the end.

But as far as ANY Olympics go, I would like to tell you to live out your dream, but I am going to have to say probably not.

Not only do you have to start young (your mom was right) but you also have to have a personal trainer and A LOT of money. A family friend was going to go the Olympics but at 14 years old after 10 years of practicing, she didn't make the US Team. It's a lot of work for what could be a quick let down.

  4. not the Beijing olympics.. 2008 only until a very long time from now...lol

but I would really love to believe it's not too late for anything. As long as the passion is really there. Go for it!

  5. Work hard. Train hard. Eat right. Believe in yourself and put in the hours of training. Long hours. Just remember that the US has a female swimmer in the Olympics right now who is 41 years old, her name is Dara Torres.

You first need to pick a sport and then train for it. You need to be coached. You need to eat right, get enough sleep, and train for many years. Is there still hope? YES...don't listen to anyone who tells you that all hope is lost. You have to believe and you have to put in the sweat equity. Being an elite athlete is very HARD WORK...but it IS possible!

    Good luck!
