  1. Maybe go and see your doc.  I went with my daughter a year ago, she young but wanted to give up smoking.  I agreed to help her.  The doc prescribed patches and gum and she had weekly appointments to see how she progressed.  That way, the patches were on the nhs, much cheaper than buying them, and she had good support from family and doctor.

  2. I just quit and am 4 weeks smoke free, I had smoked for 14 years at least a packet a day, I really enjoyed smoking.

Now I feel great, yes the first 3 weeks were extremely hard but at the end of everyday the idea was not to put a smoke in my mouth and as a result of my hard work I am no longer a smoker.I guess I tell you this because no matter how bad you feel or hard you think it is, it really does get better, even though I got furious when people told me that in the beginning.I say cold turkey is the only way to quit, results are much quicker then if you were to cripple yourself with nicotine replacement therapies, the idea is to quit right?

  3. honey, you're a little bit young for smoking. it's good that you are trying to quit smoking because there's a lot of bad implications to your health if you continue. try avoiding your friends when they smoke, or choose friends who does not smoke and chew a gum dear. goodluck!

  4. see your doctor, he/she may be upset that you are smoking so young, but the fact you show the maturity to want to stop should cheep him/her up and they will know of anything you can do or any help you can acess which as your underage may otherwise be too hard to find.

Other then that, stopping and telling your mates your stopping should get you some support which can help. If they start takeing the pSSS then you need new friends.

  5. Not old enough to buy patches?!??!?!?!?!? They are available for all ages. Buy them, throw away your cigarettes and laugh at your friends in 4 years time when you are a head taller than them with nice healthy skin and teeth.

  6. Order them online if your worried about it but many places give them out for free

    have a look around

it will be worth it in the end

the effects can be reversed :) Xx

  7. even your aviator looks like a smoker lol. Dude you are old enough to buy patches, whichever shop keeper told you that you were underage to buy it you should give him a slap. Give him 2 slaps if the same one sold you the cigerattes.

  8. You need not buy them.... go to your Doctor and tell him what you have been doing and he will help you.Never mind your friends let them do as they like, as they are the ones that will suffer in later life, Do not    say you will go and then you do not. Do it now and I am sure that will please your Parents....or dont they know about it... probably do as they can smell it as you enter a room as well as your clothes.Good Luck to you and you deserve a medal if you give it up, as it will be the best thing you will do in your life.... and look at the money you will save, and then later on it will go towards buying your first car.... and your pals will still be throwing their money away.

  9. Dont use patches or any other nicotine replacement therapy.

Nicotine is the one thing you desperately need to get out of your body to permanently quit & cold turkey is the only way, all the time you are receiving nicotine you will remain addicted even if you dont have the cigarette.

NRT is a multi million dollar industry, if everyone gave up they'd have no business. But of course they know that.

Ok the first 3 days will feel bad, the worse psychologically. But then it gets easier fast because after 72hrs no nicotine remains in the body.

You're very young, keep your mind occupied with other things, exercise & when the desire to smoke enters your mind, force your attention to your health & exercise.

    All the best.

  10. your also not old enough to smoke and that didn't stop you from getting them.

  11. You are making a GOOD choice by quiting smoking.  Let your parents know what a great choice you are making and let them and your doctor support your efforts to quit!

Stay away from your smoking friends.  Second hand smoke is very bad for non-smokers and makes it hard to quit.  If you are serious you will do this.

Otherwise, never mind, smoke if you like and me or another paramedic will transport you one day for heart related problems.  I see it every day!  Most of my cardiac patients (almost all of them) smoke.

  12. just quit, and ask your friends to not smoke around u.
