  1. Dude, if your determined, and your 110% focused you got it all the way. You have to stick out from the rest by your attitude and your perfomance on the field. The way you execute that will prolong your future road to the pros. You can do it, you have to believe that you can and let no one tell you any different. Be the first to the field and the last to leave. I think you could make it.

    Best,

  2. Ok, I'd say you first have to get your game to a level where you are near or at par. Usually, breaking 80 consistently on 18 holes will do it.

Next, you have to pass the PAT, or Player Ability Test. You have to go out, shoot a certain number on 36 holes of golf. If you pass, you are considered an apprentice.

Next, you need to work at a course for a while as an apprentice, learning the tricks of the trade: regrips, reshafts, basic greens work, scheduling and scoring tournaments, etc. Once you have 30 credits, or 30 months of work, you move to the next phase.

Past this, I get a bit cloudy. You need to put together some sort of portfolio of golf information, and present it to a panel of USGA certified pros. Once that is completed, you are classified as a certified PGA pro.

Now, if you want to get on tour, you need to win a major 'open' tourney, or pass Q school, or qualifying school.

For more information, I would suggest the book 'Paper Tiger,' about a regular 15 handicap trying to become a pro.

  3. Congratulations, you are clearly very good at golf. However, in order for you to be great at golf you need to understand several things...

1.) Here is the good news: college is very important- if you intend on going pro you should go to a Division I school and be at least scratch. Having said that, you have to take three shots off what you normally shoot in less that four years. Now, you have to understand that it is very easy to take off three strokes off a beginner just by fixing several things, but it takes years and years to take off several strokes from a player who is of your caliber. You need to be very determined in what you do and be commited.

Here is the bad news: the top golf programs in the country generally have a three day or week long pre-season warm up where they recruit future players for there team. SOME COLLEGES REQUEST THAT YOU HIT A TOTAL OF AT LEAST 3 UNDER PAR FOR THREE DAYS OR... A TOTAL OF 10 UNDER (on some very tough courses)

2.) Regardless, I think you can do anything you set your mind to and I believe that if you are very commited to this you should seek some professional help from private golf academy. You may even need to spend several summers at one of these academies to take those three strokes off your game.

Note: In this section I am talking about the premier, golf programs in the country- Duke, Stanford, Georgia, Ohio...etc.

For most Div-I schools, scratch should be good enough.

    Good Luck

  4. it's possible, but you are about where michelle wie was and look what happened to her.

  5. Yea, if you keep on working hard, work on your short game (most important)  qualify for the us amataur tournment and hit a bunch of balls a day, you can be a pro.

You have to want it really bad, and dedicate yourself for a couple of years to golf, and nothing but golf, your swing, you mental game, reading the courses, the greens, and I cannot stress this enough, your short game (from 100 yards and in) including sand traps, and tight lies like divots, sidehill lies, up hill lies, downhill lies and pitch and run, controlling spin.

  6. I would so "no". By 14 you would already be in an organised program and all these people saying "yes" are just filling you with false hope.

Enjoy being a good amateur and get a decent education.

  7. Of course! Have u heard of the saying 'follow your dreams', don't always follow your dreams though, but follow your desires!

  8. anything is possible..keep working hard, and believe in yourself

and remember, drive for show, putt for dough

    good luck!

  9. If you have the determination, fortitude and stamina anything is possible. Be on the team, High School and get the scholarship to the top rated University. Good luck and one day I'll be in the gallery watching you.
