i have $1800 saved up and i have been busting my butt for like 2 years to save money up to get something i really want. i figured i would still have $400 saved up so that is good. i also got honor role all of this year so i was going to treat myself.

First congrats on saving up for your first big purchase!

Some may disagree, but I must say that TV is quite expensive for what you get. Sure everyone always wants the best of the best, but consider taking one step down and saving 50%!

I bought a 42" Olevia nearly a year ago for our bedroom for 599! Sure, its not 1080p, its only 1080i, but who cares? The only thing out there running 1080p are some blu-ray disks. HDTV is still running at 1080i, DVDs only run at 704 × 480. Do yourself a favor, and watch a 1080i TV, then a 1080p tv and then think, to yourself "What could i do with an extra $750"
