  1. baby sit, dog sit, offer to walk dogs, garage sale, mow lawns, sell lemonade, clean houses, clean garages, pull weeds, ebay, a dishwasher at a restaurant(some do hire), paper route, wash inside and clean outside of cars, some fast food places hire, make crafts and sell them house to house.

There are many opportunities, just find something you like to do and go from there. Im 14 and I started trying to make money a few months ago. I like to excercise, so I decided to mow lawns for neighbors(its not neccessarily something that I liKe to do though) But I do like to sell things, and I often do garage sales. Just find something you like and work hard at it, if you work hard you will do well BTW i just made 220 dollars at a garage sale with my brother, and I now have around 1,600 dollars. just put yourself out there, I also recently offered to babysit a kid next door, and dogsit for 2 neighbors if they ever need me too. Good Luck!!

  2. You have already attracted the get-rich-quick cons.  I can assure you the only ones making any money on surveys are those who sell the survey company lists.

In your state do you need to be 14 or 16 to get a work permit from your state's Dept of Labor?  Most places you need to be at least 16.  So there's babysitting, lawnmowing, gardening/weeding, snowshoveling this coming winter, house cleaning, car washing and detailing, hold a yard sale/garage sale, dogwalking and petsitting, etc.  These pay good money and if you do a really good job for someone and get references, you will get a great deal of work.  More importantly, this is how you get good references when you are ready to move out into "the real working world."

Now, if you are creative and talented or super-skilled in something, there is a whole other world open to you.  If you play the guitar really well and know how to teach, you can teach younger kids.  Ditto with a math whiz or science genius who can tutor kids having problems  keeping up.  Can you design professional-quality websites, sew Halloween costumes, knit gorgeous afghans, make handmade wooden toys that are safe for toddlers/small kids?

Entrepreneurship opens a very wide world if you are talented and ambitious.  A friend owns a chain of patio furniture and pool accessory stores -- he started at 13 when he wanted a pool at home to practice for the swim team and his parents made him do all the pool cleaning & maintenance.  The next summer he had a couple dozen pools to clean in the neighborhood, and within 3 years he had a business selling pool supplies.  He was millionaire by the time he graduated from college -- and he paid all his expenses at a very pricy private school.
