  1. Hi Brittney,

First, do not forget all of your other studies in school.  Many times people want to run for their dream and cease to make it.  Be sure to secure a backup plan while reaching for your dream of being an actress.  My advise is to take it slow.  Most larger towns have performing arts theaters, occasionally they look for extras.  Also if you can get into local modeling or radio stations that do on air stories.  I also agree to join any clubs that are centered around performing arts.  I know our town is very small and it has a small performing arts theater that locals can be part of.  If you are involved with church organize and put on a production for part of the Bible.

Please understand that I know your frustration with Mom, but she is probably wanting you to focus on your "realistic" goals, such as school and college.  Please know that this is coming from a parent, but at one time I was also in your position.  I wanted to become a professional wrestler.  I sat down with my Dad several times and he kept insisting that my goal of being a top pro wrestler was slim.   But my chances of being a college graduate was more "realistic" .  He informed me that I could do what I wanted to do, but get an education in case my dream never become "reality".  Today I am a computer professional, who on the side wrestles/manages in local pro wrestling company.  I am not on nationwide TV, but I am successful at both of my jobs.  One that was realistic and the one that was a "dream".  Ask Mom to sit down and be honest, that you wish to finish school and college, but you would be interested in becoming a part of performing arts.  Be nice to Mom,  because when acting does not work out, Mom will be there.   Others will not.  Another word of advice, do it out of love and happiness and not for the money and startdom.  God Bless and Good luck!  Mom will always love you no matter who you are.

  2. cantact centalcasting-synact branch it is my agent in burbank they are the biggest and best i get the best work and the best pay for extra work .start as an extra and get discovered i have 13 films and a couple hundred tv shows for credentials but remember you will be turn down 100 times between work so have strong heart and mind millions rush hollywood but only about 500-1000 people actually get jobs the rest go home or end up in p**n or on the streets doing drugs.get a portfolio done and do some small theatre to create a resume it helps and apply for screen actors guild card you must have all this first

  3. It's not 'stupid' if it's something you enjoy.

It's possibly stupid if you think it's a way to make a living.  Very few actors, even some truly outstanding ones, can earn enough money doing it.

Does your school not have a school play?  Or Drama department?

There is probably local theater groups in your town.  Look them up and tell them that you are interested in auditioning.  They might have something for you.

  4. learn how to spell..then work on your acting.

  5. check out craigslist.com but be careful with going to gigs because anyone can post and you dont want to end up in trouble.  It is best to get the blessings of your parents so that they can help you.  also, professional places will want a waiver signed by your parents in most cases.  Did you think about acting school? Perhaps look some up in your area.

  6. Well the internet is a great place to start, but there are lots of scams out there...

Check out barbizon modeling schools, they teach you what you need to know to be a young model and or actress. They also help you get acting jobs after you graduate from the school. But there are many schools like barbizon so feel free to look around (I know of some other places such as Paige Parks), the most important thing to remember is at your age people are going to TRY to scam you out of your money so be on the watch for scams.... GOOD LUCK! (and keep me updated I did some modeling/acting when I was younger and would love to help if I can!) Oh by the way remember many actors started out modeling to get their face out there to the public eye.

  7. I think you should learn how to spell first.
