  1. If going professional means getting on the PGA tour, an 89 average score will not get anyone's attention.  If your school has a golf team, go out for the team, this is an excellent way of improving your skills and learning to handle the pressure of playing to win.

Getting on tour is very involved, there are pro/am tournament that you can play in to get attention.  You can go to some golf schools, apply for the PGA Qualifier School.  You will need to have a sponsor with some bucks.

At 15 you will not be taken seriously until you have a 0 handicap, so you will have to improve by about 17 strokes.

I appreciate your ambition and you should try to get your game in shape, you can do it.  High school golfers can win college scholarships to great schools.  You can play your way through college and then apply to the PGA.

Good Luck, you have a lot of spunk.  Go for it.

  2. If you work hard and practice, you could go pro.  It's a late age to start, but if you keep improving, you could have your dream come true.

  3. Yes with practice and reading Harvey Penick's Little Red Book.  You change your golf game 5 strokes at a time:maybe you learn to one putt holes instead of 2 or 3 putt, maybe you start hitting greens in regulation more often or so on. Find something wrong with your game and work on it. If you focus on one aspect at a time you will get better faster.

  4. When you can average even par and less then you can think about it. Sixteen strokes over par on average is a long ways away from pros scores.

  5. I like the answer above me....if you can drive 300 yards you might be able to do something HA HA...dumb dumb.  Theres people that avg less that 270 that will crush you day in and day out....ill play you without a wood in my bag and beat you...name the course

  6. Practice. Join your high school team. Practice.

Par is 72.... you got a long way to go.

    Practice.

  7. it would be a slim chance but set your mind to it

  8. Definately keep practicing and you could go low. Thinking about the bigs at 15 should be a long term goal. Just focus on your game. I can give a tip about lowering your scores that will help you get to the next level. I recommend practicing every day. If you can't get to the golf course every day, I suggest getting a gross of almostgolf balls and start hitting everyday. The one thing I've learned about players who had a shot at going to the pros was that they were able to swing every day. This new off course technology is changing everything. Check it out.

  9. It all depends on your coordination and ability, when I started at 13, i averaged 95, right now im at par. Fitness training such as weightlifting and flexibility can only go so far, if you are able to drive the ball consistently near 300 yards with role, you might be onto something. If not good luck beating me, im 16.

  10. With hard work and practice, you can do anything you want to do ;D
