I got an application form for Sainsburys and you have to be 15 and 3 months to work there which is fine because im couple of months away. 1. some of these places just use a fancy term for asking for your social security number.  ask them if that's what they are looking for.

  2. You won't be sent a national insurance number until about a  couple of months before your 16th birthday. If you want to work before you reach the age of 16, Sainsbury's will have to apply for a work permit from the local council, in order for it to be legal.

Also, be aware that there are limits on what sort of jobs a school-child can do, as well as limits on the hours they can work, so that it doesn't interfere with their studies.

If I remember correctly, I don't think you are allowed to work on the tills until you're 16, but you might be able to do shelf-stacking (or "Replenishment" as Sainsbury's calls it).  This was a few years ago; I'm not sure if they have changed their rules since then.

  3. lol you do get them before you 16th birthday, We had ours done at school. So i'd ask them about it.
