  1. I have been through this process a million times and like you, was nervous the first time.  But take my word for it, you'll be okay!!

Interviews usually last between 15 and 30 minutes.  In a typical situation, they'll ask you some questions (What can you bring to the job?  In what previous situations have you excelled at something? Can you work well under pressure? Etc.) then they will open it up to ask if you have questions.  It's really good to engage in conversation.  Ask them how long they have been , if they like it, what THEIR job entails, and if they don't address it automatically, make sure you ask what exactly your job will entail.

Turn in your application to the manager, number one, you'll know that it got into the right hands, and number two, it will show that you are very interested.

To the interview wear "business casual".  Personally, I hate that statement because it was never explicit enough as to what it meant, so I'll tell you!!!  Wear a skirt and nice shirt, or a casual dress.  Make sure to be covered up (as in your chest) and that whatever you are wearing is not too short.  Most of all, don't wear shorts!

If you don't hear back from them-give them 3-4 days- then it is alright to call (in fact it's a good thing!).  Keep calling back until you hear from them-once a week is a good general time period.  Perseverance is the best way to get noticed when it comes to applying for jobs.  It will get you remembered by management as well.

Finally, at the end of the interview, you can ask, "When can I expect to hear back?", and they'll give an answer.  If they don't contact you within the quoted time, call back!  If they're still unsure, call back again!  Keeping in contact is the best thing you can do for yourself, honestly.

Good luck!!! I'm sure you'll do great!!!

  2. Just wear something casual like a nice shirt and nice jeans, and you have to fill out a application first always hand it to the manager because the workers could do w/e to your application and you'll never know, but you wait 1 week in tell you call back and ask to talk to the manager to see if he or she had time to review your application. and after that its good to wait to see if he calls you back for a interview.  say please thank you yes ma no ma stuff like that. And he or she will usually say i'll call you to see what happens, but thats still not a for sure thing.

Also to pick up a application go around 2-4 o'clock Monday - Thursday thats the best time to pick up any application =] Hopped i helped and don't worry about a interview just smile alot and be polite they want to see that you have people skills. So be nice and friendly, but not awkward.
