I used to sell cars what you may is if you are not working and can not support a car payment you want to look into going to a auction.  If not a low maintence used car may be the best way to go.

Well $1500 isn't really alot but I would try to find a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. They are safe reliable and economical. Most of the cars that you will find will be pretty old and will most likely have many miles on the clock. Just to let you know.
