  1. Go to a modeling agencie and get an agent then try look good where there are lots of ppl who might be talent scouts

  2. first off, you'll get nowhere without getting into a contract with a modeling agency. check the nearest modeling agency and set up an interview, bring in your portfolio, and they will basically ask you questions, make you dress/walk, take your measurements, and photograph you (Polaroids). Without a modeling agency, you're nothing. NEXT is a very famous modeling agency for supermodels/top models in the business in the US. Another major thing is to realize what type of modeling are you trying to get into. Runway? Commercial? Catalogue? Hand/Feet/Swimwear?

My biggest advice is to locate near the big ones, centrally NY and LA, and join. I know a friend who went to NY, got into NEXT, and her first week hired and she got a show booked for Nicole Miller.

Modeling agencies are like talent agencies, they tell you when and where a fashion designer needs a model that you match the description for and they set up the appointments.

It's a million times easier than you scavenger hunting for yourself to book shows and it is the best way to get your name publicized and known.

  3. learn how to spell so you can read your contract correctly

  4. Go to a modeling agency.  Find out when they have an open call.   Never pay for representation.  If they think you have what it takes you will be paid.  Some major modeling agencies are Ford, Elite, Wilhimina--depending on where you live you may look up agencies in your area, but make sure they are legit.  Your agency will feret out legitimate assignments & photographers for you.  Good luck!

  5. If you have pix, send them to magazines that you want to appear in.  Our friend above is right -be careful who you trust.  (starting with me...)

  6. get an agent and be very careful who you trust and what they expect you to pay for.  you can get seriously ripped off and taken advantage of in so many ways.

  7. ask Cory Kennedy
