Im 16 and my paycheck?

but i dont have a state id, if i have a school id or something like that can i alow my mom to cash it?

or can i cash it with just that id?

You can endorse the back of it with your signature and your mother can cash it herself.

The bank that the check is written on should be willing to cash it for you using your school ID for identification.

While a parent can cash your check for you I recommend that you open an account in your own name and start to save some of your earnings.

Now that you are employed you need to learn about checking & savings accounts.

If you have a picture ID from your school, the bank that issued the check will cash your check.

You can get a state ID from your Department of Motor Vehicles, for a minimal fee.

Most banks will allow you to open a savings account without a picture ID, but being a minor a parent or gardian will have to be on the account with you. Once you have an account at a bank, you will be able to go deposit your check and keep some out without needing identification. I do highly recommend saving at least half of your check. I got my first job when I was 14, and every week when I got paid, I would keep out ten dollars. That money was to cover drinks after school and such. By the time I got my drivers license and began driving, I had enough money to a great car, and still had money in my savings. I thought it was unfair at that time, having to pay for my driving school and such, but looking back at it, I thank my parents to making me pay for everything. If it weren't for them, I mostly would not know how to manage money now. I had a great early start, and I wish you the best of luck on your endeavor!

You can cash the check yourself.  All the bank will ask you for is your birthday if you don't have an id.  Im 15 and I just cashed my paycheck yesterday.
