  1. definitely do your research online, e-mail ppl in those professions, do a day-on-the-job, whatever it takes. It is YOUR FUTURe, so don't get stuck w/ a job you hate!

  2. It takes college, then law school, then passing the Bar (a VERY hard test) to be a lawyer.

That's fine if that is what you want to do, I'm not trying to discourage you.

But you have to be very dedicated, and now is the time to get really good grades in school, so you can get into a good college.

So stick with it, and be really serious about your schoolwork!

  3. research storys on neglected, and abused kids and that and for a lawyer keep social studies and english up and learn about the law.

  4. I would say volunteer in a shelter just to get the feel of things and for a lawyer talk to one or read books, go to a court hearing IDK

I prefer working with the kids myself

  5. You should talk to your high school guidance counselor on what you need to do to get into those careers. For the lawyer part, the best thing I suggest is to go to your local court house and watch trials.

  6. You really need to volunteer in a social services setting. Almost every social services organization needs volunteers. I thought I wanted to be a counselor until Iworked with abused children for awhile. I found out that I couldn't leave work at work. I brought it home and it began to affect me personally. Some people can turn things off when they leave work. I am not one of those people. I strongly recommend hands on because research is not the same as expereincing those emotions that will come with this type of work. If you try it and can handle it then that is awesome because the social services fields need awesome people!

  7. be a volunteer for the kids and go to your court house and sit in on a public hearing.
