  1. If the title is in your name only then your mom has no right to keep you from taking it.Your dad will have to pay for the insurance since you will be living with him.As your mom will stop the insurance as she probably has you on her insurance,Tell your Mom not to be angry as you have the right to spend time with your dad too.good luck hope yo work things out as it is hard to part on such bad terms

  2. If your dads can take care of you, you don't really need anything.

  3. who is telling you that you cant take your truck?

  4. If its in your name they have no control over it.

  5.     Technically, you can't own anything until you are 18, but I seriously doubt that they would spend the money for the legal battle to take your truck.  If you want to live with your dad, get him involved.  This is an intimidation tactic on your mother's part, and your dad should see it as such and intervene.

  6. not if the title is under ur name .. they are just trying to make u stay

  7. the best thing to do tell your mom this!

  8. You can choose what parent you want to live with starting at 12 years old in most states.  So Choose...  Now to the truck... Is it owned outright by you or is it mortgaged with your mom as a co-signer.  If the truck was a gift and is in your name solely, then you may have to take your truck and run to your dad's.  You need to talk to your dad first.  He may not want to be in the middle of your "other" families argument.  And then, if the truck is owned by you, and the insurance is paid by your mom that needs to be takn care of before you leave.  You may end up having to get yourself a lawyer to negotiate you escape.  Or as my husband said... take the truck and f***** run!!!  Good luck.

  9. Um if you own the truck then you can tell them to bite your behind! Unless they helped you pay or have their insurance on the truck. I need more details to give you the best advice.

  10. Tell them the truck is legally in your name, so they can't do anything about it ! !

  11.   Did you pay for the truck?  What 16 year old has enough money to buy one.  It sounds like that truck was a gift or bribe to make you stay with your mom.  Is she collecting child support?  Maybe she needs use of the truck.  If you want to move to your dad's just forget the truck.  Get a job and buy your own vehicle.  Make your mother proud of you, do the right thing.

  12. So, you can not take anything else that you OWN either? If you are the sole owner of your truck you can take it without anyone reporting you for grand theft. But why? Is it some power play game to try to get you to NOT do what YOU want? You could go to the court and petition to take your stuff with you. Most cases with custody and visitation issues pretty much say that the minor child can take his/her posessions with them.  If your dad has the means to pay for a lawyer for you to press the issue, I bet they back down becuase it is really making them look stupid.  I would really like to know more about the entire situation, though. It sounds like there is more going on here than a simple "yeah, but you can't take your stufff" issue.

  13. her house her rules...but if you just talk to her and get your dad to talk to her then i am sure you can work it out. or when she leaves just sneak out and make sure you get the spare key

  14. Who is THEY

If the orders are that your father has to provide for you, sell your truck to him :P

Ask your mother would she really spite you by stealing your truck cause you are moving out. Maybe move without it and then report it stolen by her... Yikes!
