  1. Alright Tom relax, dont chew out the lady, i'm a try to do the best i can. I am about the same age as you and the fact of the matter is you've hit your plateau training point. If at all possible you need to be running as many races as possible with people that are faster than you, now more than ever you need people pushing you. I know this crappy feeling, I had this one point where in three weeks of track meets I ran the exact same 4:40 mile for all three races, didnt pr until state that year. The important thing to remember is keep running your body is just putting out all it can right now, but also try to get hard repeat workouts in, I know its complicated but it works take it from me an XC state champ.

  2. wow, ok first of all I think you had all the right in the world to chew that first responder out, that was very rude of her. As for your running. Everyone runs into a wall with their running. I know it is hard physicall, and mentally but you can get through this. It sounds like you are more of a distance runner than anything else. did you ever try running a different distance? I say this because you were running to lose weight, which you did but maybe you don't have the body type to be running distance. Everyone can run distance but some are better at mid distance than distance and some are better at sprints than distance. I used to be a sub 12 minute 2 miler and i got hurt one year and once I healed up i decided to try sprinting because i was affraid of getting another fracture in my phemur so I started sprinting and from sprinting I started hurdling and i found out very quick that I am much better at hurdling than running distance. So my advice would be to try a different distance or just change the way you are training. Good luck with everything and good job on the remark to that person lol.

  3. get a big tire, and a rope, tie rope around waist, tie rope to tire, drag tire about 7 feet behind you, run through grass. or check this out. http://www.eastbay.com/promo/default/pro...

  4. When you first start working out you will see amazing results that u will usually be happy with but as time goes on your body will acclimate to the workout and you will see less improvement. It's not that your getting worse you've simply hit your peak with your current work out routine. Change it up a little make it more challenging for yourself and if all else fails use Anivol you'll see results like you wouldn't imagine.

  5. Congratulations on your weight loss and new found fitness.  Don't get discouraged.  I've been running for awhile (also lost a fair amt. of weight) and done many 10Ks, 1/2 marathons and now marathons.  Just keep challenging yourself, maybe sign up at your local running club. Buddy up with a veteran runner (masters) and learn from him.  Cross train will help improve your running too (cycling, swimming, etc).  Treat yourself to nice technical clothing/gear.New jeans etc. (this reminds you of your smaller size and how hard your worked for it)

Please don't give up your running...you are doing yourself a huge favour by running.

Here is a website that has many resources and motivation for running: http://www.runnersworld.com/

    Keep running :) Good luck!
