Audi Q7, or the BMW x5 (the x5 used)... Is this a good choice for a first car.. I take good care of everything I own, I'm responsible and I love to look good and have elegant things.. I'm a young entrepreneur so I can probably get any car up to like 85k and pay it off within some time.. I'm not considering anything like a Toyota or a Nissan because im just not into those cars, however i know that they are great and have great milage..

  1. i think you are to young to be driving those cars. yes i know you take good care of things but very little 16 year old have cars like that. i am not saying get something big like a yukon or a Tahoe but something like a BMW is a lot. especially if this car is convertible, then you have to worry about someone breaking into it more easily. if those cars are 2 seaters, you will not want them trust me. i am 16 and when you get 17 and 18 you will want to haul all your friends around in it, not just one other one. i have a trailblazer and it works out perfectly. i know its not the best on gas but if you have enough money to buy and pay for the insurance for a bmw and an audi then I'm sure you have enough for gas. and if its not your style try a smaller black car. very handsome =]

  2. I'm not sure what you're question is...I wouldn't get one of those expensive cars unless you are very sure of your responsibility.  And do you really want a monthly note at the age of 16?  Doesn't seem very smart to me.  What kind of entrepreneur are you at 16?  I have a new volkswagen toureg and my insurance is $535/quarter, and that is with a clean record.  The nicer and newer the car, the more expensive the insurance, especially with your age.

  3. Yeah they're alright.....I'd still prefer a car with good mileage (VolksWagen Beetle!!) But yeah it's good. Just make sure you can pay it off....

  4. Insurance on either of those cars is going to be outrageous for a 16 year-old in the US. Call around and get some estimates from different insurance companies and you'll see what I mean.

Also, you cannot finance a car on your own at 16 in the US. A parent or legal guardian will have to do the financing if you're not paying in full with cash.

  5. Get over yourself already.

  6. Well they definitely are "good" cars for sure but maybe for a first car you should get one that is not so expensive...remember you are only 16 and are still learning how to drive a motor vehicle, and if you live in an area that experiences winter driving (snow and icy conditions)....you should get to know how to handle a less expensive car just in case of any minor or major bang ups....then once you are fully confident in your driving abilities then go out and get one of the higher end models and enjoy it....but remeber never drink & drive and drive safely......good luck

  7. Sure it's a good choice. Maybe not very practical, but it's good taste in cars. My brother didn't get his first car until he was 18, in which case, he wasn't even responsible enough for a car then.

Sure you may think you're responsible, but you have to consider the fact that, there are a lot of difficult things on highways, roads, roundabouts, etc.

Maybe waiting a year would help. Get to know the road a little better. Use a parents car.

  8. It would be good as long as you can afford that car and insurance. And you need to pretty responsible.

  9. Is this a good choice for a first car: NO.

Insurance for a young - really young - driver in a powerful European sport sedan?  A LOT.  Seriously.

The last thing this world needs is another inexperienced driver behind the wheel of a powerful, fast car.  Go ahead and get the Camry for a few years, kid.  Learn to drive before you start piloting a public missile on the highways.
