Im 16 years old, need money?

Question

I live in the states, my mother has had her job cutback to 17-19 hours a week. If i cannot find some money within this week we will have to begin pawning our things off, and after another week goes the car and the house.. I cannot get a job, she won't allow it, she's being really stubborn about me not helping out, but she isn't doing anything about this so i have to.

I have a lawnmower and figured i could make some money that way, but it needs a new sparkplug or something and i cannot find anybody reliable enough to help me fix it.. i figure that is my only chance to save my home.. please reply..

Tried washing cars? Babysitting? Sell stuff that you REALLY don't need...Easy stuff like that.

First of all you need to be a rebel and go get a job. Lots of places will hire you at 16 and you can get a decent amount of money with a starter job, it won't pull in a lot of money but it can be enough to help the two of you get by as long as you budget! There are lots of places that will let you work only on weekends as well.

Show her that you want to help out and getting a job would mean a lot to you. If she cares she will want you to be happy.

I wouldn't rely on fixing the lawnmower because you would still need to pay to fix it and you aren't guaranteed to get any work with it. A job is a better decision.
